LYGHT (Lutheran Youth Guided by His Teachings) is the Prince of Peace youth group.  Participants are from 6^th through 12^th grades.  The goal of the youth group is to enhance our trust in God and each other and to let the light of Christ shine through us in our everyday lives.  We participate in a variety of activities including servant events, fellowship, and fund raising activities.  Some of the servant events that we have participated in this year include weeding around the church, helping at a local abused women’s shelter, making disaster kits, collecting money to help feed the hungry, planting at a local elementary school, and helping at a Habitat for Humanity house.  Our fellowship events include pool parties, kayaking, retreats, and much, much more.  We participate yearly in the Youth Specialties Sr. High Congress in VA Beach and Jr. High Quake in Raleigh NC.  We will also attended the National LCMS Gathering in Orlando in the summer of 2007.  We are active in our local LCMS district and get together with them.  Our staff includes a treasurer, secretary, and council representative that are all parents.  We also have church members and parents that are counselors for our events.  The church is very supportive of all of our activities and we support our church in a variety of ways such as helping out at church services and VBS.  Please come and join us!  We encourage friends of church members to also attend our events.  If you have any questions please call the church office 340-8420.  God Bless!
